The IB program aims to develop inquisitive, open-minded, and balanced individuals through a rigorous, analytical-thinking framework recognized by elite global institutions.

The International Baccalaureate (IB) offers four distinct global curricula. The IB Diploma Program (DP), designed for students aged 16-19, is a two-year intensive program that serves as a premier credential for university admission worldwide.

The IB philosophy focuses on developing thinkers and communicators who are risk-takers, principled, critical, open-minded, and balanced. The IBDP is taught across over 150 countries within authorized IB World Schools.

IB candidates must complete the 3 Core Requirements and pass examinations in 6 different subject groups. Students must take 3 to 4 subjects at High Level (HL) and the remainder at Standard Level (SL).

The DP Core

  • Extended Essay (EE): A self-directed, 4,000-word independent research paper in a chosen subject areas.
  • Theory of Knowledge (TOK): A course exploring the nature of knowledge—how we know what we claim to know—culminating in an essay and oral presentation.
  • Creativity, Activity, Service (CAS): A personal development framework involving artistic, athletic, and volunteer projects.

Each subject is evaluated through Internal Assessment (IA) by school teachers and External Assessment (global examinations) in May. IB Examiners evaluate all scripts anonymously to maintain global standards.

  • Each of the 6 subjects is scored on a scale of 1 to 7 (Max 42 points).
  • The combinations of EE and TOK provide up to 3 bonus points.
  • The maximum attainable IBDP score is 45 points.
  • A minimum of 24 points is typically required to earn the Diploma.
